These Ethiopian Crosses, also known as (Abyssinian Crosses) were mounted on staffs and carried during processionals as well as displayed on altars. The kingdom of Ethiopia was probably the second country (after Armenia) to embrace the Christian faith. Evidence exists that Christianity thrived here even in the 1st century.
