African Décor - Ethiopian Cross (Abyssinian Cross)

This processional cross was mounted on staffs and carried during processionals as well as displayed on altars.

The kingdom of Ethiopia was probably the second country (after Armenia) to embrace the Christian faith. Evidence exists that Christianity thrived here even in the 1st century.
